Overview

Es-Fortitude Protect is a specialised nutritional formula intended to complement dietary care during cancer treatment. Each 20 g sachet provides protein, glutamine, branched-chain amino acids (BCAAs), probiotics, curcumin, selected vitamins, minerals and other nutritional ingredients.

The formula is intended for use as part of an individualised nutrition plan developed with a doctor, pharmacist or registered dietitian. It is not a replacement for prescribed cancer treatment or a varied, balanced diet.

Usage Instructions

Mix the contents of one sachet with 120 ml of water and serve. The manufacturer recommends two sachets daily, or use as directed by a healthcare professional.

The appropriate amount and duration of use should be determined according to the person’s nutritional needs, treatment plan and clinical condition.

Precautions
  • Use under the guidance of an oncologist, pharmacist or registered dietitian.
  • This product provides nutritional support and must not replace prescribed cancer treatment or medical care.
  • Consult the treating healthcare professional before use, particularly if taking anticoagulant or antiplatelet medicines, or before surgery. The formula contains vitamin K1, curcumin and piperine.
  • Piperine may affect the absorption or metabolism of certain medicines. A healthcare professional should review the person’s current medication before use.
  • Seek medical advice before using probiotic-containing products in people who are severely immunocompromised or critically ill.
  • People living with diabetes should monitor glucose as advised and include the product’s 12.6 g carbohydrate per serving in their nutritional plan.
  • Do not use if the sachet is damaged or if there is a known allergy or sensitivity to any ingredient.
  • Age suitability, allergens, storage conditions and locally approved labelling should be checked on the physical pack before supply.
  • Medical-aid reimbursement has not been confirmed and the product may require out-of-pocket payment. Customers should confirm cover with their medical scheme.

I consent to Medtronic contacting me through telephone calls, SMS’s, and emails for the purpose of on-going patient care. For purposes of ongoing patient care, Medtronic will create a Medtronic Diabetes Profile which records the device allocated to the patient, the device serial number for purposes of the warranty and any product observations which might have been logged to that medical device (required by regulatory).  This enables the patient to contact a 24-Hour Product support line for support on that specific medical device. 

I further consent to Medtronic contacting me through SMS’s and emails for the purpose of informing me of any Medtronic products.  This will include Medtronic training material regarding the medical device, support emails on product discontinuation and upgrade availabilities on the patient’s specific medical device when nearing the warranty expiry and consumable updates/changes.
